NHS agrees £3,750 settlement for  medical negligence never event

Debra Brown instructed Mulderrigs in a medical negligence never event claim.

Debra is a young mum from Bury, Greater Manchester.

Medical staff staff left a swab in her abdomen after the birth of her first baby and she developed a serious infection.

The whole thing was very distressing and affected the enjoyment following the birth of her first born child.

The health trust conducted an internal enquiry after a midwife alerted them to the error.

We took on Debra’s medical negligence claim against the health authority, and agreed to act on “no win no fee” terms.

The health trust accepted it was a “never event” (something that should never happen).

We then negotiated with the trust and they agreed to pay £3,750 in compensation.
