Debra Brown instructed Mulderrigs in a medical negligence claim.

She is a young mum from Bury, Greater Manchester.

After the birth of her first baby the medical staff left a swab in her abdomen and she went on to develop an infection.

The whole thing was very distressing and affected the enjoyment following the birth of her first born child.

There was an internal investigation by the health authority after the midwife alerted the hospital to the error.

We took on our client’s medical negligence claim against the health authority, and they accepted it was a “never event” (something that should never happen).

The health authority then agreed to pay our client compensation of £3,750 for their medical negligence.
